      Mrs. P.C. Walden died at the home of her son, D.G. Walden, on Ohio street, Thursday, after an illness of several weeks. She was born in Mercer County, Kentucky, January 18, 1839. Funeral services were held from the M.E. church, South, Saturday morning at 10:30, conducted by Rev. J.A. Jared. Interment at Oak Hill cemetery.

      Mrs. P.C. Walden departed this life at the home of her son, Dug Walden, in this city, on Thursday, Nov. 25th, at 2:30 p.m. Funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Jarred, form the M.E. church, South, Saturday morning at 10 o;clock, and interment in Oak Hill cemetery. Pauline C. Powell was born in Mercer county, Kentucky, January 18, 1839. She was married to N.D. Walden, in that county October 8, 1858. To this union eight children were born, three of whom are dead. The living are Dug Walden and Mrs. George Jenkins, Butler; Lewis, in Kansas City, Kan.; John, in Iola, Kan.; Coge, Los Angeles, Cal. They moved to Bates county March 8, 1878, having lived in Johnson county 6 years. The husband died May 28, 1900. Mrs. Walden had been a consistent member of the south Methodist church since girlhood. she was a good woman and lived the full three score and ten years allotted time.
