CRAB ORCHARD CITIZEN DIES AT PARIS
Mr. Pate J. King, well known Crab Orchard citizen, died at the home of his son, Sam King, at Paris and was buried in the Crab Orchard cemetery after funeral services at the Christian church at 2 p.m. Monday. Mr. King's wife, who was Miss Mary Hansford, preceded him to the grave a number of years but two daughter and four sons survive him. They are Mrs. John pope, of the East End, a daughter who resides in Indianapolis, and Messrs. Thomas and Joseph King, this county, William King, Indianapolis, and Sam King, Paris. pate King, Jr., died some years ago. In the loss sustained by the children they have the sympathy of their many friends. Mr. King was for many years a prominent farmer and good citizen of the East End but on the death of his wife, broke up housekeeping and had lived with his children since. He will be missed by many, for no man in the East End of the county was better known that he was.

Again the old adage proves that "Love laughs at bolts and bars" and also at objecting daddies and mams. Eloped on the night of the 14th, Peyton King and Miss Mary Hansford, daughter of Hon. W.O. Hansford, of this place. We understand they took the night express for Louisville and there crossed the river to Jeffersonville where the knot was tied. While we object to that way of getting married, we offer them our congratulations and best wishes for their future happiness and prosperity.
