      This Indenture made the 12th day of October 1798 between William Lamme of the County of Garrard and State of Kentucky of the one part and Augustin Dunn of the same County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Lamme for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred pounds current money money of Kentucky by the said Augustin to him the said Lamme in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfied and content hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain and sell unto the said Augustin and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of Land lying in the County aforesaid on the Waters of Dicks river  part of Samuel Scott’ssettlement and preemption Containing two hundred and thirty acres less or more and bounded as follows to wit:  Beginning dogwood Locust and hopwood corner to James Scott in the settlement line thence South 193 poles to a poplar and white walnut in the settlement line corner to James Scott thence N 87 E 211 poles to a d__ oak in Robert Scotts line thence with said Roberts line N 3 to a white oak and hopwood thence with said Roberts line N 87 E 19 poles to a sugar tree and hickory thence N 25 W 115 poles to an Elm and White walnut in Vances line thence N 10 W 80 poles to a beach thence S 87 W with Smith’s line to the beginning to have and to hold said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Augustin and hisHeirs forever to their only proper use and belief and the said William for himself his Heirs Execs and Adms the said land and premises unto the said Augustin and his Heirs forever against the claim of him the said William his heirs Excs and Adms and against the claim or claims of all and every other person and persons whatsoever Shall and will forever warrant and defend in witness whereof he the said William Lamme hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written.

      Augustine Dunn is one of four people bound on administrator's bond for William Dunn Sr.'s estate, Garrard County, 1808. Others - John Dunn, William Dunn,Thomas Wilson.

      Settlement of Wm. Dunn's estate in 1811 shows distribution of $242 to Augustine Dunn, a legatee; same amount distributed to John Dunn, Benjamin Dunn, Thomas Wilson, and Nathan Douglass - William's other sons and sons-in-law
       
      Kentucky: A History of the State, Volume 5, 4th edition, 1886. Garrard Co., contains a biographical sketch for Joseph B. Dunn, born July 1853 in Garrard County. According to this write-up, there were four Dunn brothers: Augustine,William, Benjamin, and John. The sketch notes that Augustine was a native of Maryland, and had married Eleanor Aldridge. Joseph, subject of the sketch, descended from Augustine

      Kentucky: A History of the State, 3rd edition, Battle Perrin, & Kniffin, 1886, contains a biographical sketch for Henry B. Dunn, born February 23, 1824, son of John A. and Margaret Bright Dunn. The sketch states that John A. Dunn was born in Maryland, and when a boy was brought about 1800 by his parents and settled in Kentucky. John A. Dunn's father was Augustine Dunn, who married Ellen Aldridge

      Dunn, Augustine: Dunn married Ellen Aldridge in Maryland and migrated to Kentucky circa 1800. Their son John A. Dunn was born in Maryland and married Margaret Bright, born 1795 in Lincoln County, Kentucky, a daughter of Henry Bright. John's son, Henry B. Dunn, was born February 23, 1824 in Garrard County, Kentucky.
