  • Name Elizabeth Douglass
    • A Elizabeth Douglass is buried at the Gilbert's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Garrard County. This Elizabeth was born on September 26, 1810, and died on August 19, 1834.
With a birth date in 1810, she could have been the third girl in Nathan's house in 1820, listed as age 10 and under; and correspondingly, the girl in Nathan's house in 1830, listed as age 15-20.

Nathan and his family were living in Garrard County, on Gilbert's Creek, not far from this cemetery, at the time this Elizabeth died in 1834.

Elizabeth is buried very near/adjoining the other Douglass burials in the cemetery (brother Samuel and his children).

For all the above, we presume this Elizabeth in the cemetery is Nathan and Eleanor's daughter.

    • Nathan Douglass enumerated on the 1820 census with three young girls in the home. I presume they were all his daughters. Two of the girls were under the age of 10, the other age 16-26. Two of the girls would have been Polly and Rebecca, known daughters of Nathan. Polly would have been the one listed age 16-26, as she married in 1820; Rebecca likely listed as bing under the age of 10, even though by later records she was really 14 at the time. The other, I presume is Elizabeth

    • In 1830, Nathan is listed with just one young girl in the home, age 15-20. His daughter Polly had married in 1820, and daughter Rebecca married in April of 1830, plus she was older than 20. So this young girl is not Polly or Rebecca, but appears to be the third girl listed on the 1820 census as being under the age of 10; I presume this is Elizabeth.
