      Located in Box 67, Bundle 267, Suit 2192; Kentucky State Archives.
      Order Book 20, page 494, November 1853.
      John left the following slaves to Elizabeth, for her life: Ned, Andy, Amy, Benjamin, Jinny, Green, Elijah, Berry, Edi, Melissa, plus two old woman – Patsy and Judy.
      Melissa to go to Nackey Simpson after Elizabeth’s death; all other slaves to be sold after Elizabeth's death, and proceeds to be divided equally between all John’s children (or their children, should any of John’s children die before sale and distribution).
      This suit was for the sale of slaves, prior to Elizabeth's death. Original pleadings not in file - no indication why suit was brought against Peyton.
      From note in records, appears wanting to sell:

      * Amy, 45 years old
      Edward, 40 years old

      * Elija, 10 years old
