Delavan House
Delavan House
Delavan, Tazewell County, Illinois
This Victorian style house was designed by E. W. Skadden of Mason City and built in 1903 on a lot inherited by Joseph Wilson in 1901. According to the original specifications drawn by E W Skadden, the open stairway is made of selected chestnut. All doors in the house are chestnut and cypress with the exception of the front door, which is red oak. The hardwood floors are oak. Leaded glass in the built-in china cabinet in the dining rooms adds charm to the home. Wood for the house was shipped in from Mississippi and Louisiana
